  2. I love baking the pizza!!! I feel like the wife of some ancient olive farmer when I make it, and the smell of flour fills the kitchen.

We make the pies with our friend Trader Joe. The dough is the basil kind ($1.20 per pizza), the pizza sauce is generic tomato ($1.80, enough for two pizzas), and the cheese is mozzarella ($4, enough for four pizzas). For the toppings, we saute up whatever veggies need to be eaten. Throw some fresh basil or oregano on there if you're still growing your herbs, and use lots of freshly ground salt & pepper after baking. It comes to $3.20 per pie plus toppings. Pat's been throwing the Morning Star Farm "meat" crumbles on there, and I like pineapple, plus the usual like mushrooms, bell peppers, onion. I want to try spinach.
